How much does a salon suite cost in Atlanta?

The short answer: across metro Atlanta, a private salon suite typically runs $250 to $600 or more per week, depending on size, neighborhood, and what’s included. At MINT in Chamblee, suites start at $300 per week — one weekly payment that covers your suite, utilities, and WiFi, with no commission on your services. The rest of this guide breaks down what moves that number, what’s actually included, and the move-in costs most operators don’t advertise.

What actually drives the price

Two suites at the same weekly price can be completely different deals. Five things set the number:

Size. Suites are priced largely by square footage. A compact single around 100 sq ft sits at the low end; double suites and storefronts with street frontage run two to three times that. Pay for the room your services need — a lash artist and a colorist with a processing area do not need the same footprint.

Neighborhood. Buckhead and Midtown addresses carry Buckhead and Midtown prices. A few miles out — Chamblee, Brookhaven, Dunwoody — the same quality of space often runs noticeably less, and your clients usually get easier parking for the trade.

What’s included. A bare weekly rate can hide a lot: utilities, WiFi, laundry, towels, parking, and backbar may or may not be in it. Always compare the loaded weekly cost, not the headline.

The building. A purpose-built, well-kept suite building with a real waiting lounge and covered parking costs more than a converted office floor — and your clients feel the difference before they sit down. It is part of what you’re selling.

The split. Some operators take a percentage of your services on top of (or instead of) rent. A flat weekly fee with zero commission is worth more than a slightly cheaper rate that taxes every dollar you grow.

What a suite costs at MINT

MINT has three suite types at one Chamblee location — 5255 Peachtree Boulevard, inside the Perimeter, with free covered parking for you and every client:

Suite type Size Weekly license fee Best for
Signature 100–105 sq ft From $300 Solo pros with an established book
Premium 110–175 sq ft From $450 Room to retail, add a station, or grow
Storefront 185–335 sq ft From $650 Small teams and street-front presence

Every MINT license is one weekly payment covering your private suite, utilities, and WiFi. It also includes free covered parking, the client waiting lounge, 24-hour secured access, a listing in MINT’s professional directory and lobby display, and the lead engine that routes new client inquiries to our pros. MINT never takes a commission, a percentage, or a product cut — what your clients pay you is yours. See the suites themselves on the suites page.

The move-in number nobody advertises

The weekly fee is the steady cost. Moving in has its own one-time math, and it is where underprepared pros get surprised:

First payment + deposit. Expect your first weekly payment up front, plus a deposit — at MINT, $1,000 for a single suite and $2,000 for a double or storefront suite.

Your own setup. Liability insurance, your Georgia license in good standing, initial product and color stock, tools or furniture beyond what’s in the room, and your booking/payment setup. For most established pros this is a few hundred to a couple of thousand dollars, once.

The client move. Announcing the move well — texts, a booking-page update, a post or two — costs nothing but a week of lead time. Pros who tell clients early keep nearly all of them; the suite model works because your clients follow you, not a salon’s sign.

Set against the alternative, the math turns quickly: at a 50% commission split, a pro grossing $2,000 a week hands the house $1,000 of it. A flat suite fee from $300 keeps that $700 difference in your pocket every single week — the move-in cost is typically recovered in the first month.

Questions to ask before you sign anywhere

Whatever building you tour, get straight answers to these:

Is the weekly rate the whole cost — utilities, WiFi, laundry, parking? Is there any commission, product quota, or required backbar purchase? What are the building’s access hours for you and for clients? What is the term, and what does it cost to leave early? Can you brand your door and your space? Who else is in the building — because a vetted, professional hallway is part of your client experience whether you choose it or not.

The cheapest suite is rarely the best deal. The best deal is the one where the weekly number is the whole number — and everything above it is yours.

Common questions

How much does a salon suite cost in Atlanta?

Across metro Atlanta, private salon suites typically run from about $250 to $600 or more per week depending on size, location, and what is included. At MINT, suites start at $300 per week with utilities and WiFi included and no commission on your services.

What is included in the weekly cost at MINT?

Your private suite, utilities, and WiFi in one weekly payment — plus free covered parking, a client waiting lounge, 24-hour secured access, a directory and lobby listing, and the lead engine that sends new client inquiries to MINT pros. No commission, ever.

Is a suite cheaper than booth rent or commission?

For an established pro with their own clientele, usually yes. Commission keeps 40–60% of everything you earn; a suite is a flat weekly fee and you keep 100%. The more you gross, the wider the gap.

What does it cost to move in?

Plan on your first weekly payment plus a deposit ($1,000 for a single suite at MINT; $2,000 for a double or storefront), then your own setup: insurance, licensing, initial product, and your booking system. Most pros recover it within their first weeks of keeping 100% of their revenue.
